Warm Parts - New Colours EP (Pre-Order)
Warm Parts are a post rock, alternative, instrumental, band based in Todmorden, West Yorkshire.
New Colours was recorded over two days by Sam Greenwood at Hebden Bridge Underground in early 2026. The most important and enjoyable factor to the member’s of Warm Parts is playing live. This includes elements of improvised sounds, and allowing space for intuitive creativity to flourish. The band wanted this to come through into the EP , and this was achieved by recording live for large extended periods of time, until there were suitable takes off the track. The band feel that this has documented the essence and energy of a live performance.
New Colours sees the emergence of three brand new tracks - 'New Colours', 'Magpie' and 'Deaf in One Eye'. Each track has also been remixed by favourites of the band - Pale Blue Eyes, Richard Norris (The Grid) and Peter Duggal (Wolfgang Flür).
The bands music style has an easily identifiable connection to other musical genres such as Krautrock and Shoegaze, with influences ranging from bands such a Add n to (x) , Can, Diiv, Neu, Mogwai and Toy amongst others.
Warm Parts emerged from the Todmorden music scene back in 2024, and currently comprises of core members Rachael Elwell on synths, programming, and electronics (whilst also being the bands visual artist) and Dan Smith on guitar.
Warm Parts continue to cultivated a loyal local following and have performed consistently across West Yorkshire's best music venues such as The Golden Lion (Todmorden) supporting Parastatic, Sister Ray Davis, Pale Blue Eyes; The Grayston Unity (Halifax) supporting Pale Blue Eyes and Mirror Revelations; and further afield at The Globe (Glossop) supporting Fuzz Club’s Maquina and at Amped (Huddersfield) supporting The Utopia Strong, amongst a range of other successful, well attended shows.
